OCT. 17 PACERS LOOK TO SQUISH HORNETS Following the Indiana Pacers' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, head coach Rick Carlisle didn't give them a positive review. Carlisle stated the players produced a "soft" effort vs. the rookie Zach Edey-led front court. The Pacers have a chance to make Carlisle eat his words as they host the Charlotte Hornets at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena.
Although Carlisle isn't one for moral victories, preseason is the time to accept them . Second-year Jarace Walker found a rhythm vs. the Grizzlies. Walker scored 15 points, 12 of which he produced in the fourth quarter. Will he have another special game vs. the Hornets, which have a lesser defense than the Grizzlies?
ODDS: The Pacers are 5.5 points favorites over the Hornets
OCT. 14 PACERS SEEK TO TAME GRIZZLIES The Indiana Pacers took care of business against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. Although the Pacers played defense like the "Flint Tropics," according to Indiana's head coach Rick Carlisle, positive tidbits did come from the 129-117 victories. However, Monday's matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies is possibly a lighter load for the Pacers.
After Ja Morant sprained his ankle vs. the Dallas Mavericks, the Grizzlies' preseason opening opponent, Memphis' head coach Taylor Jenkins hasn't played the All-Star point guard. Furthermore, besides Morant, Memphis' rotation is riddled with injured players. Perhaps the Pacers will capitalize on their opponent's misfortunes. The Grizzlies have yet to announce Morant's status for Monday's contest.

Oct. 10 PACERS TRAVEL TO OHIO The Indiana Pacers have a disgusting taste in their mouth following the 131-130 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Despite holding a three-point lead with three seconds left in the contest, the Pacers lost. Rick Carlisle preached defense at media day, and while the first game of preseason shouldn't condemn a team, the final results painted an ugly loss.
Regarding defense, the Cleveland Cavaliers are where the Pacers strive to be a top-10 defense. Tonight's game will come as a barometer for how the Pacers stack up against a formidable defense, but they'll need to worry about committing turnovers.
While lapses on defense contributed to the Pacers' loss at the expense of a buzzer-beating 3-point shot, coughing up the ball 22 times also didn't help.
