Former NBA 3x All-Star Makes Unique Bronny James Realization

Bronny James has had the NBA world wrapped around his finger since making his arrival to the league in June. He had the arena packed during his Summer League debut, and every NBA fan will be closely watching his regular season debut when he shares the court with his father, LeBron.

The unique aspect of the situation is that James was selected No. 55 in the 2024 NBA Draft. He entered the league after just one season at the college basketball level.

James' career with the USC Trojans was short, and it wasn't all that glamorous. In 25 games, with six starts, the guard averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.3 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-2 guard gets some leeway for his production, though. In October, before his freshman season at USC, he suffered a cardiac arrest in practice. He was able to make a full recovery and get back to play his lone season of college basketball.

While the statistical averages aren't pretty, James is a capable player. He's got strong defense for his position while being able to provide shot-making abilities. There's potential for the son of LeBron to pan out and have a solid NBA career as a role player.

His on-court player isn't the only reason James was drafted, though. Gilbert Arenas took to his show, "No Chill Gil," to reveal why James made sense with pick No. 55.

"Everyone’s judging his basketball game but nobody’s judging [Bronny] as an influencer… He has more followers on social media than Patrick Mahomes," Arenas revealed on the show.

It's not often a player is going to pan out when they are selected with the final few picks of the NBA Draft. Most can be signed as an undrafted free agent. But the Lakers were able to please LeBron and take a flyer on Bronny, who is going to add to an already elite brand.

Arenas is a three-time All-Star and Most Improved Player award winner from his time in the NBA. He's got some merit behind his opinion and he makes a very valid point.
