The Utes received some bad news on Thursday. Four-star offensive tackle Aaron Dunn announced that he had rescinded his commitment to Utah. 247Sports ranks him as the 17th-best offensive tackle and the second-best prospect from Utah in the 2025 class, so this is undoubtedly a tough one to swallow.

Dunn had been committed to Utah since August 8, but on Thursday, he posted to his X account that he'll be de-committing from the Utes. "After prayers and discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from the University of Utah," he wrote. "Thank you to coach Harding and Whittingham for giving me the opportunity to play for the team."

According to his 247Sports profile, Dunn had offers from 20 different schools, and he made official visits to Oregon, USC, BYU, and UCLA. There's strong speculation that Dunn could be headed to BYU, where Kalani Sitake has led the Cougars to a surprise 6-0 start to the season.

Dunn was the highest-ranked prospect in Utah's 2025 class, and their recruiting ranking will surely take a hit. Stay tuned for more updates as Whittingham and his staff work on building the future of Utah football.
