Kawhi Leonard has been an incredible basketball player throughout his career. He's won two NBA Finals and earned Finals MVP in both of those series.

Being a key piece in the San Antonio Spurs delivering an NBA title in 2014 before carrying the Toronto Raptors to a championship victory in 2019, his prime was incredible. However, Leonard's legacy won't be remembered for his incredible offensive development nor his defensive disruptiveness.

The injury bug has been unfair to Leonard. He's missed plenty of time with a wide variety of injuries. He joined the LA Clippers in the 2019 offseason, but he and Paul George were unable to reach their potential due to a handful of injuries to both of the stars.

Now, George is a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Clippers' success relies solely on the availability of Leonard. For the 2024-25 season, things could get ugly.

LA got devastating news on Thursday. Leonard missed the Olympics this season for precautionary reasons, and he's yet to suit up in a preseason game as he nurtures and rehabilitates a knee injury.

On Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania revealed that the Clippers superstar is going to miss an indefinite amount of time with knee inflammation.

"Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard is expected to be sidelined for indefinite period of time to start the NBA season as he rehabilitates the inflammation in his right knee," Charania reports.

Without Leonard, the Clippers essentially have James Harden, who is beyond his prime, with a handful of role players. Their season could begin to get quite shaky should Leonard miss a large period of time with the knee injury.

Not only could the Clippers' season get shaky, but they're heavily invested in winning now, so making sure Leonard can not only return but avoid further injuries will be a huge focus with the new NBA season arriving.
