The New York Mets are set to face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the NCLS on Friday night.

Before what will be the Mets' final NCLS game at Citi Field, a group of special guests will perform the national anthem.

The Temptations will perform their rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" before the Game 5 matchup. Immediately after the anthem, the group will perform its hit song "My Girl" — the walk-up song for Mets star shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Mets dropped this exciting news before the team's Game 4 contest on Thursday night.

This announcement captured the attention of fans around the baseball world.

"Temptations and baseball? A perfect match!" one wrote.

"Beautiful idea. Hats off to the #Mets fan engagement and content staff for a tremendous job all year long," another said.

"I love how much fun we’re having being a mets fan is so special," another added.

The Mets suffered a disappointing loss in Game 3, falling to the visiting Dodgers with an 8-0 final score. The New York squad now trails 5-2 at the top of the fifth inning in Game 4.

The Mets trail 1-2 in the series and are in danger of falling to 1-3. Perhaps this upcoming national anthem performance can give the team the boost they need to keep their season alive.

Game 5 will begin at 5:08 p.m. EST on Friday.
