Despite adding more misery to Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints in Week 7, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton made sure to give his respect to his counterpart and his former team.

Payton made a successful return to New Orleans after he and the Broncos handed the Saints their fifth loss of the season. The NOLA franchise simply didn't have enough weapons to counter Denver, who secured a dominant 33-10 victory in their Thursday Night Football showdown.

The Saints dropped to 2-5 on the campaign, while the Broncos improved to 4-3 as they continue to rebuild following the short and frustrating Russell Wilson era.

After the game, Payton and Allen were seen sharing a postgame handshake in the middle of the field. The two can even be heard exchanging compliments, both saying "appreciate you" to each other.

For those unaware, Sean Payton and Dennis Allen have a history with each other. Allen served as Payton's defensive coordinator from 2015 to 2021, and he was promoted as head coach when the latter stepped down from his position.

Unfortunately for Allen, with the Saints struggling and off to a rough start this 2024 season, there have been plenty of calls for him to be removed from his job.

It remains to be seen what the Saints will do next as they continue to fall in the NFL standings. However, Allen's status will surely be a hot topic in the next few days or weeks.
