Steelers Accidentally Leak Secret Russell Wilson Plan vs. Aaron Rodgers' Jets

The Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) will host the New York Jets (2-4) on "Sunday Night Football'' this week, with plenty of drama in store - even though one cat just got let out of the bag.

Both of these teams come in with defenses that rank in the top 10 in both points and yards allowed. The mystery to this game is how will quarterback Russell Wilson perform in his first in-game action in 10 months?

Wait - Wilson is starting? Coach Mike Tomlin has been trying to keep a lid on that plan. But receiver George Pickens just sprung a leak on Friday by accidentally offering up the big reveal.

Pickens is noting that he's put in extra practice work with Wilson "because this is his first start.'' Okay.

Wilson played just one drive in the preseason before injuring his calf. The Steelers defense has kept them in games; however, quarterback Justin Fields was hampered by offensive penalties that took yards and touchdowns off the board.

Meanwhile, how will the Steelers defense perform against an offense that now has two legitimate No. 1 receivers in Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson? The best way to slow the passing game is to turn edge rushers T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith loose.

Jets left tackle Tyron Smith has struggled this season, allowing five sacks off the left side, which is tied for second worst in the league. Right tackle Morgan Moses hasn’t allowed a sack all season and will likely be matched up on Watt most of the game.

The Steelers need to get off to a fast start with Wilson, however, he may be a little rusty in his first start of the season. This game could come down to which defense makes the most plays, but with Adams in New York with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, this game will be a challenge for Pittsburgh.

The game will kickoff at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Sunday Night at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
