Kevin Durant’s Three-Word Response to Blocking Bronny James

For the first time, Kevin Durant went up against LeBron James' son, Bronny James, as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns 128-122 in overtime in the 2024 NBA preseason.

Less than a minute into the fourth quarter, Durant and Bronny shared a moment that neither will soon forget.

It appeared that the Lakers' new coach, JJ Redick, drew up a play for the rookie out of USC, as Bronny passed the ball to Anthony Davis at the top of the key and instantly sprinted towards the basket off of a D'Angelo Russell screen. Bronny received the ball back from Davis on a give-and-go but instantly met the Slim Reaper at the basket.

As Bronny went up for the shot, Durant went up as well and pulled off what appeared to be a clean block.

However, the officials called a foul on the former NBA MVP, but Bronny missed both free throws.

After the game, Durant took to social media to leave his response to blocking LeBron's son, commenting on a post made by Bleacher Report .

"damn im old," Durant (36) wrote in the comment section.

Bronny had the best game of his NBA preseason, even if the box score doesn't necessarily show it. He recorded four points on 2-of-4 shooting, two rebounds and two assists. James did, however, have the highest plus/minus on the team with a +17.

Durant played 31 minutes in the Suns' final preseason game, tallying 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Both squads will start the regular season in less than a week, as the Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and the Suns will face the Clippers in Los Angeles. However, James and Durant will meet once again on Friday, Oct. 25, at Crypto.com Arena.
