No. 5 Georgia is traveling to Austin to play No. 1 Texas on Saturday night in one of the most anticipated matchups of the college football regular season. The SEC matchup will feature two likely first-round quarterbacks, Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers.

Beck has had a strong start to the season, going 142-of-209 passing for 1,818 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while leading Georgia to a 5-1 record.

Ewers is 78-of-108 passing for 890 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions in the four games he's started for Texas. (The Junior missed two games after suffering an oblique strain against UTSA.)

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit was asked Friday who he'd pick first in the 2025 draft between Ewers and Beck. The former Ohio State quarterback told reporters he'd take Ewers if the draft were held now.

“I would probably give the nod to Quinn," Herbstreit said via a video posted to X by Brian Davis of A to Z Sports. "I just think that he‘s played enough football and he’s been in (Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian's) system that is a little more turn-key to the NFL. How he plays the rest of this year, how he plays in this game, how they both play in this game, we could be talking Sunday and I mean that‘s how close it is.”

Herbstreit went on to praise Beck for his skillset and said he thinks both quarterbacks will have solid careers in the NFL.

Beck and Ewers will have a chance to show league scouts which one of them deserves to be taken first when they go head-to-head on Saturday night.
