Pat McAfee Hilariously Roasts Nick Saban on 'College GameDay'

The "College GameDay" broadcast was electric on Saturday, as the popular program visited Austin, Texas, for the Texas Longhorns' matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Between the roaring fans and hilarious antics on set, it was one of the better episodes of the season.

However, during the show, former NFL punter turned sports analyst Pat McAfee somehow got away with roasting Nick Saban live on air.

With Tennessee being led by freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava, Stanford Steve asked a trivia question pertaining to freshman quarterbacks. The "College GameDay" crew was stumped by the question, "Who was the last freshman quarterback to beat Alabama?"

The panel threw out some smart guesses. But it was revealed that the last freshman quarterback to defeat the Crimson Tide was Bo Nix during his time playing for the Auburn Tigers. That's when McAfee struck Saban with a perfect roast .

Kirk Herbstreit clearly loved that comment while Saban kind of ignored it. Regardless of the 72-year-old former head coach's reaction, it's funny to see someone actually try to roast an all-time great.

But Saban showed off his professionalism and seemed unphased by the comment. After simply crossing his arms, Saban and the rest of the "College GameDay" crew moved on to the next subject.

Nix led Auburn to a massive Iron Bowl win over Alabama in 2019 with a 48-45 score. Not only is the former Tigers star the last freshman quarterback to beat the Crimson Tide, but he's also the only Auburn freshman quarterback in school history to earn a win over the Crimson Tide.

The now Denver Broncos quarterback had a solid performance in that game against Alabama. Nix finished the 2019 contest with 173 passing yards, 44 rushing yards, and two total touchdowns while throwing a 50.0 completion percentage.

Nix and the Tigers won the game after the former quarterback hit wide receiver Shedrick Jackson to convert a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter to win game. That season, Nix was named the SEC's 2019 Freshman of the Year.
