Oregon Unleashes Secret Weapon in Win Over Purdue

Oregon unleashed a secret offensive weapon during its 35-0 win over Purdue on Friday, as sophomore tight end Kenyon Sadiq recorded a pair of crowd-pleasing highlight plays.

Sadiq, playing his first significant time this season after recording just five catches a year ago, stepped into a big role on Friday due to an injury to starting tight end Terrance Ferguson.

As a result, the 6-foot-3, 245 pound Sadiq entered the fold, recording a 19-yard catch-and-run during the Ducks second drive of the game.

From there, the true sophomore recorded another big catch during the second quarter, looking quick and nimble on his way to a 39-yard gain.

In the 35-0 win, Sadiq recorded two catches for 58 yards, showing off a big-play ability that's been advertised within the Oregon program for some time now.

Sadiq committed to the Ducks as the fourth-ranked athlete in the class of 2023 according to 247Sports. Additionally, the sophomore ran the 100-meter dash in 11.07 seconds during high school, which speaks to his freakish athleticism.

Despite Sadiq's obvious size, he remains one of the fastest players on the team this fall. As a result, Oregon fans likely can't wait for him to take over as the starting tight end in the future.

As it stands, Sadiq is still competing for snaps with both Ferguson and senior Patrick Herbert.

The Ducks will be in action again next Saturday as they host Illinois. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. PST and the game will be aired on CBS.
