Stephen Curry Sends Strong 4-Word Message to Lakers Rookie

Stephen Curry didn't play in the Golden State Warriors preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night due to a finger injury, but he still managed to make an impact on the night, just not in the way you'd expect.

After the game, Curry met undrafted Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari. This had a big impact on Olivari, as he became emotional when discussing what meeting Curry, who he revealed was his basketball idol growing up, meant to him.

On Saturday afternoon, the Lakers awarded Olivari a two-way contract after seeing his strong body of work during the preseason. Shortly after that announcement, Curry shared a four-word message for Olivari in an Instagram post that surely added to the excitement the rookie was already feeling.

Olivari latched on with the Lakers after going undrafted out of Rice, and he did enough to prove that he was worth a longer look, which led to him getting a two-way deal. In four preseason games, he averaged 8.8 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor.

And as if making the team wasn't good enough, he got an awesome message from Curry on Instagram, who clearly enjoyed meeting the talented young guard.

Olivari isn't going to have an everyday role with the Lakers, but he will fill in on occasion in a depth role off the bench for the team, while also playing for Los Angeles' G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

On the other side of things, Curry and the Warriors will be looking to find their way back to the postseason after they crashed out in the Play-In Tournament last season. Curry will surely play a big role in their championship goals, and you can bet he's chomping at the bit for the regular season to finally get underway.

“Real as they come” is what Steph said. Don’t know why the article didn’t state the message!
