The Week 8 college football slate featured some incredible matchups across the board, including ranked games between No. 1 Texas versus No. 5 Georgia and No. 7 Alabama versus No. 11 Tennessee.

While much of the country was focused on those top 10 matchups, others were focused on the Kansas Jayhawks' duel against the Houston Cougars.

    But not many, it appears.

The 1-5 Jayhawks went head-to-head against their conference foe, who are 2-4 on the season. Kansas was playing a "home game" at Arrowhead Stadium, the residence of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.

While the Jayhawks renovate their own David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, they will play the remaining home games of their 2024-25 season at Arrowhead.

Kansas started the season at Children's Mercy Park, a soccer-specific stadium in Kansas City, and have since moved to Arrowhead Stadium.

Given the Jayhawks' rough start to the season and constant movement, they drew an incredibly small crowd against Houston in Week 8.

Dan Lucero, a sports broadcaster out of Topeka, Kansas, presented the photo from Arrowhead Stadium while giving fans his input on the crowd.

"Honestly, I worried it'd be a smaller crowd - there were some stragglers and the KU side you can't really see is much more filled out than the Houston side," Lucero said. "Anyway, notifications muted for this conversation."

Kansas went on to win the game, 42-14.

The Jayhawks are reportedly paying a $125k per game rental fee to play at Arrowhead Stadium, per Conner Mitchell at The Lawrence Times .

David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is set to reopen in 2025 after the $448 million investment from Kansas University. While their home stadium is under construction, the Jayhawks will round out the season against Iowa State and Colorado at Arrowhead Stadium.

The team's matchup against Houston marked its second "home game" of the season at Arrowhead after competing against the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 4. That game ended in a 38-27 loss for the Jayhawks.
