Deion Sanders Makes 'Disrespectful' Accusation After Colorado-Arizona

Following a Week 7 loss against the No. 18 Kansas State Wildcats, coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes bounced back in Week 8 with a win 34-7 win over the Arizona Wildcats at Arizona Stadium.

To begin the game, Arizona won the coin toss and elected to kick, giving the ball to Colorado first. But the Wildcats had a trick up their sleeve, opting for a surprise onside kick. However, the plan failed, giving Sanders and the Buffaloes offense the ball at the Arizona 46-yard line. They found the end zone 2.5 minutes later.

After the game, Coach Prime discussed the surprise onside kick by Arizona, claiming that it was "disrespectful."

"It’s kinda disrespectful, too," Deion Sanders said in a postgame press conference. "We prepare for a lot of situational football throughout the week.”

Sanders and company got the last laugh, dominating the Wildcats in nearly every aspect of the game. One of the only downsides of the Buffaloes' win was the amount of turnovers. But Arizona had the same amount at three apiece.

With wide receiver/cornerback hybrid Travis Hunter missing a majority of the game with an injury, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was still able to do his thing for the Buffaloes offense. The senior out of Dallas, Texas, completed 23-of-33 passes for 250 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

With Hunter out, fellow wide receiver LaJohntay Wester, who recorded the game-tying Hail Mary touchdown catch a few weeks ago against Baylor, carried the load through the air, securing eight catches for 127 yards.

The Colorado defense also came to play on Saturday. Along with forcing three turnovers, they brought down the Arizona quarterback seven times.

The Buffaloes are now just one win shy of securing bowl eligibility. Sitting at 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play, Coach Prime and company will face another conference foe in the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 9.

The Wildcats fall to 3-4 and 1-3 in conference play following the loss and will get the West Virginia Mountaineers next.
