Haason Reddick, Jets Trade Potential: Deafening Reason For Lions Inactivity

As the New York Jets try to save their season from their current 2-4 standing the team has one player continuing to refuse to show up to the team facility.

Even with a new agency representing him.

Haason Reddick's holdout from the team that traded for his final year contract rights has been one of the most perplexing stories in NFL stories in which a player is pushing for a lucrative contract extension.

It has also cost Reddick his previous representation as well.

New York allowed Reddick and his new agent Drew Rosenhaus to facilitate a trade in the coming weeks earlier this week alone. One organization that appeared to be interested in the Pro Bowler's services was the Detroit Lions.

With Aiden Hutchinson gone for the year, it seemed obvious that the Lions would be interested.

“Haason Reddick would be an obvious player the Lions can inquire about, and I’ve been told they have reached out,” Fowler wrote this week. “Reddick’s recent hiring of agent Drew Rosenhaus, who is known for getting deals done expeditiously, could improve his chances of either staying with the Jets or facilitating a trade.”

While a trade could eventually happen, for the Jets and Lions to not come to an agreement is an obvious sign of where things are. No team wants to acquire Reddick until they get assurances they can come to terms on a new deal.

That's what the Jets failed to do with him when they acquired him back in April.

For the Lions to not come to terms on a trade agreement shows that Reddick's demands are still too high for any particular team to be interested fully in his services.

Whatever the reason no trade for Reddick has been made, making his holdout continuing into Week 7.
