The most intriguing game in Week 8 of the 2024 college football season was the SEC battle between the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 1 Texas Longhorns in Austin, TX.

Although the Longhorns went into the game as 4.5-point favorites (ESPN BET), the Bulldogs looked like the better team, at least in the first half.

To start the match, Texas went with its normal starting quarterback, Quinn Ewers. But Ewers struggled mightily against an elite Kirby Smart defense, completing just 6-of-12 passes for not even 20 yards and two turnovers, one fumble and one interception.

Toward the end of the first half, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian elected to bring Ewers to the bench and replace him with fan-favorite backup quarterback Arch Manning, but it was more of the same. In two drives, Manning also completed only 50% of his passes for 19 yards and another fumble.

After Manning took the game into halftime, Sarkisian decided to go back to Ewers in the second half, and, on the first drive of the third quarter, he led the Longhorns to their first eight points of the game.

However, following the strip sack of Manning late in the first half, a photo of the two Texas quarterbacks on the bench is going viral with 200,000+ views and counting over multiple posts on social media.

In the photo, both Ewers and Manning looked spooked. At least, that's what many college football fans are saying, taking to social media to leave their thoughts on the photo.

"If BOTH of your QBs look like this you’re cooked," one fan said.

"Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers when they realize this is the SEC not the Big 12"

"Both Texas QBs look like they were just informed they’re being drafted by the Browns."

    "Seeing ghosts"

"Definition of shell shock. Kirby Smart broke these boys"

    "Both them boys spooked"

Ewers was the starter for the Longhorns going into the season, but after suffering an abdominal injury in Week 3 against UTSA, the junior from Southlake, Texas, was forced to sit out for a few games. Manning took over the starting role in Ewers' absence, bringing Texas two more wins and keeping their undefeated season alive.

In Week 7, Ewers made his return for the Red River Rivalry against the Oklahoma Sooners, guiding them to a 6-0 record and a 2-0 in SEC play.
