The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs took down the No. 1 team in the land, the Texas Longhorns in Week 8, securing a 30-15 victory.

After the prime-time matchup that will surely shake up the college football rankings, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers shared a postgame exchange.

Ewers and Beck met in the middle of the field, shook hands and exchanged a short conversation.

The win over Texas vastly helps the Bulldogs' national title hopes since many fans and media members wrote off Georgia after their Week 4 loss to Alabama.

Georgia handed the Longhorns their first loss of the season and advanced to 6-1.

While the Longhorns entered the game as a 5-point favorite , Georgia dominated from start to finish. The Bulldogs entered the locker room at halftime with a 23-0 lead.

It seemed like Texas was marching back in the third quarter, scoring 15 points out of the break, but they went scoreless in the fourth, marking three quarters with zero points for the No. 1 Longhorns.

Ewers ended the game with two touchdowns and 211 yards, competing 25-of-43 pass attempts. The Longhorns' backup, Arch Manning, saw limited snaps in the second quarter and was able to produce 19 passing yards on six attempts.

Beck had another struggling performance, throwing zero touchdowns and three interceptions, but the Bulldogs' run game and defense led the team to victory.

Georgia running back Trevor Etienne ended the game with three touchdowns and 86 yards on 19 carries, being the only player to reach the endzone for the Bulldogs.

UGA's defense suffocated Ewers and the Longhorns all night. They had one interception and three forced fumbles against Texas, most of which sparked their 23-0 first-half lead.

The Longhorns will have a chance to bounce back in Week 9 when they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. With the loss to Georgia, Texas moved to 6-1 on the season.
