Week 8 of the college football season had plenty of big games. Among the top 25 matchups, many eyes were on the SEC clash between Texas and Georgia.

Both teams entered the weekend ranked in the top five, and the Longhorns entered as the nation's No. 1 team.

On top of that, the game was in Austin, giving Texas a home-field advantage. By the end of the game, it was Georgia who snuck away with the 30-15 victory as the SEC gets even more confusing.

Texas trailed 20-0 at one point in the first half, which prompted Steve Sarkisian to sit Quinn Ewers and send in Arch Manning.

Manning played the final two series of the first half, but Sarksiain decided to send Ewers back out to begin the third quarter.

It was a controversial decision by the Texas head coach, and Robert Griffin III made his feelings known on X and questioned the decision by Sarkisian.

"Texas BENCHED QUINN EWERS?!?!?!" Griffin wrote.

    Shortly after, he added more.

"Unless Quinn Ewers is injured you ride or die with your guy. What the hell is Arch Manning gonna do against Georgia down 20? That’s not a great spot to put the young Manning in AT ALL," Griffin wrote.

Less than an hour after that post, Griffin wrote another one on X.

"THAT’S WHY YOU DON’T BENCH QUINN EWERS."

Manning completed just three passes on six attempts for 19 yards while being sacked twice and turning the ball over via a fumble.

The fumble resulted in a Georgia field goal to extend the halftime lead to 23-0, which then caused Ewers to re-enter as the team's QB1.

It was a strange turn of events for Texas, and Ewers would throw both touchdowns in the second half.

Sarkisian's decision to put Manning in with Texas down 20 against a top-five team was certainly an interesting one. Nonetheless, Texas lost its first game of the season and will face Vanderbilt in Week 9 on the road.
