Deshaun Watson Carted Off After Suffering Non-Contact Injury

After a slow first half from both offenses, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered what appeared to be a serious lower leg injury while attempting a scramble with just under two minutes left in the half. It was a non-contact injury and many have speculated that it looks like an Achilles injury.

After lying on the field in visible pain for several minutes, the Browns training staff brought out a cart to assist Watson, who was clearly emotional as he was taken off the field, raising concerns about the severity of the injury.

Watson’s season has already been tumultuous for the Browns, as they struggled to a 1-5 start, leading to significant criticism directed at him. No one wants to see any player face such a potentially serious injury.

The Browns now turn to second-year pro Dorian Thompson-Robinson , who had limited action last season after Watson's injury and was eventually replaced by Joe Flacco, who guided the team to the postseason.

Robinson, selected by the Browns after a solid collegiate career at UCLA, managed to help Cleveland put points on the board just before halftime, narrowing the deficit to 7-6.

However, the primary concern remains Deshaun Watson, who still has significant money remaining on the final two years of his fully guaranteed contract with the Browns.

They will now operate with either Thompson-Robinson or Jameis Winston, who is also on the roster and was currently serving as the third string quarterback on the depth chart entering Sunday.
