Losing to the Tennessee Volunteers was not something fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide were used to under head coach Nick Saban. The only loss came in 2022 on a game-winning field goal.

However, in Kalen DeBoer's first season, the Crimson Tide lost to the Volunteers 24-17. This was the Tide's second loss in the past three games, jeopardizing Alabama's chances for the SEC Championship.

On a recent episode of " Always College Football ," Greg McElroy broke down the weekend's top games. While he believed Alabama had much to work on offensively following the loss, McElroy thought the Crimson Tide were still in a "good position" to make a run.

"So, a lot to unpack there," McElroy said. "I think Alabama's still in a good position to make a run but they got things to clean up now on the offensive side because this is now three weeks in a row where they've made some critical errors offensively."

The Alabama defense forced two interceptions and one fumble in the first half, but the offense struggled to find the endzone despite the opportunities. The Crimson Tide offense only scored seven points in the first half, which allowed Tennessee to mount a second-half comeback.

Alabama's running game could not get going in Knoxville. For just the second time this season, the Crimson Tide were held to under 100 rushing yards, finishing with 75 in the loss.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe was held to 22 yards rushing and finished the game with 239 passing yards, two total touchdowns, and two interceptions. Alabama averaged 2.2 yards per carry against Tennessee during the game.

Alabama will aim to rebound against Missouri next weekend in another ranked matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
