Jameis Winston Sounds Off After Demotion, Deshaun Watson Injury

The Cleveland Browns face a decision at the quarterback position after losing Deshaun Watson for the season to an Achilles injury.

At the end of the first half, Watson went down in a non-contact situation and was carted off the field. The Browns confirmed he suffered an Achilles injury and that it would likely end his season.

"I think let's get the tests to confirm, but that's what it looks like," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said after the game.

Prior to the game, the Browns shook up their depth chart, bumping second-year quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson into the No. 2 spot and pushing Jameis Winston down the depth chart. Winston was the emergency quarterback but was able to enter the game late after Thompson-Robinson suffered a finger injury.

After the game, Winston delivered a firm message about his plans going forward.

"Ever since I stepped foot in this building I've showed what i'm about," Winston said . "And I'm going to continue to show that."

Winston signed a one-year deal with the Browns this offseason and expected to be Watson's primary backup.

Winston has passed for 22,171 yards, 142 touchdowns and 99 interceptions in his career. He has a 34-46 record as a starter and made the Pro Bowl in 2015 as a rookie.
