Mina Kimes Takes 3-Word Shot at Jameis Winston Over Deshaun Watson Rant

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston issued a long and somewhat bizarre defense of Deshaun Watson after he went down with a season-ending Achilles injury on Sunday.

Watson suffered the injury near the end of the first half. He planted his right foot and immediately hit the turf. The cart came out for Watson shortly after and some Browns fans cheered as the polarizing passer was taken off the field.

"I'm grateful that I had a chance to serve Deshaun, but I am very upset with the reaction to a man that has had the world against him for the past four years," Winston said . "He put his body and life on the line for this city every single day. Regardless of your perception, regardless of what you thought should happen with him, he committed every single day that I've been here to be the best he could be for this team."

Winston and many other Browns players expressed anger over fans cheering after the injury to Watson.

"When I first got here, I knew these were some amazing fans, but Deshaun was treated badly, and now he has to overcome another obstacle," Winston said. "So I'm going to support him. I'm going to lift him up, and I'm going to be there for him,. Because I see the way he fights. I see the way that he works, and I know who he is as a person. I'm sending up my prayers. I already prayed for his leg, and I will continue."

Kimes was not a fan of Winston's statement, responding to a message that said it was a powerful message on Watson.

"Is it tho?" Kimes wrote on X .

She further explained after facing some blowback.

"There’s a pretty big gap between talking s**t and a lecture that includes the words 'he had the world against him and put his life on the line,'" Kimes said .

Watson is a polarizing figure due to his off-field issues. More than 20 accusers have alleged that Watson committed sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions. Watson has settled those cases, including the most recent earlier this month.
