    Warriors Not Scared of Competition

The Golden State Warriors went undefeated in the postseason and were the only team in the league this season to win every game. Usually, postseason wins and losses are not the end-all-be-all of regular-season success, but the Warriors are a different story.

With their new-look roster, emerging young talent, and past record of success, Golden State is ready to take the league by storm this season and reassert their dominance. The last time the Warriors were the best preseason team, before the 2021-22 season, they ended the year as champions. This year, Steve Kerr has outlined a plan to get back on top.

During their undefeated run, the Warriors won by an average margin of victory of 17.3 points. If you remove their 132-74 beatdown over the Los Angeles Lakers, where JJ Redick sat all his starters, they still won by nearly an average of 10 points. The Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and Lakers in their first matchup played everyone who was healthy, and the Warriors still cruised through the preseason.

Steve Kerr didn't downplay the talent of the teams he had to go up against.

"We've, I think, had a lot of competition," he said. "We've had every guy coming in in good shape and playing hard and playing well and playing together."

He admitted that their last game against the Lakers was not a "fair fight" but thinks his players, both young and old, are playing high-effort basketball and finding chemistry with one another rather quickly.

After the departure of Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks, there were very real concerns that Golden State would take yet another step back. However, their recent additions are slotting in well, they have a surprising amount of depth and made light work of teams with playoff hopes.

The Warriors are yet to go up against the best in the West, like the Thunder, Mavericks, Timberwolves, and Nuggets, but they have shown that they can hang with teams that had better seasons than them last year.
