Philadelphia 76ers Hold Trade Talks to Bring Back Former Sixers Forward

Trade rumors in professional basketball sometimes feel like dramas playing out in real time. Just when fans think they grasp their team's direction, an unexpected twist occurs. This is exactly the situation with the Philadelphia 76ers and their interest in reuniting with a former Sixers forward.

According to NBA Insider Chris Haynes , the Los Angeles Clippers have granted permission for P.J. Tucker’s agent Andre Buck to speak with other teams to facilitate working on a trade.

Tucker has not impressed in his time with the Clippers, averaging just 1.6 points and 15.0 minutes per game.

That has not stopped the veteran from drawing the interest of teams around the league. And the Sixers are one of the teams seemingly interested in a reunion with Tucker.

According to Kelly Iko , a number of teams — including the 76ers, Heat, Bucks and Suns — have held trade conversations with Tucker’s representation.

Interestingly, Tucker has played for all four of those teams in the past. A reunion seems to be on the cards. But where?

The idea of Tucker returning to Philadelphia is interesting. His exit drew mixed reactions from fans since. He was part of the blockbuster trade that sent James Harden to the Clippers.

Many recall his tenure with the Sixers as disappointing. He was brought in on a 3-year, $33.2 million contract but was unable to make an impression on the floor. His numbers dropped significantly compared to his time with the Heat.

Despite this, the 76ers are seemingly thinking about bringing the veteran back into the fold. His defensive ability and experience could help them. His ability to guard multiple positions and tough opponents in crunch situations would strengthen the Sixers’ rotation and give them more versatility.

However, this probable return raises doubts among fans who wonder if re-acquiring a 39-year-old veteran is a wise move for a team striving to compete for the Championship.

No! Tucker is terrible. Keep him out of Philly. He is more than a disappointment. 2 major things that brought us down the past couple years were Tobi's contract and having this bum in the starting lineup.
