After falling to the one-win New England Patriots on Sunday, New York Jets head coach Jeff Ulbrich shared a dire assessment of the season so far -- and added that there is plenty of blame to go around.

The Jets failed to hold onto a late lead on Sunday, watching veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett lead the Patriots on a 12-play, 70-yard drive late in the fourth quarter to score the game-winning touchdown. The 25-22 loss dropped the Jets to 2-6, a big hole for a team expected to compete for the AFC East after the return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Instead, Ulbrich said the loss was a low point for the Jets and would force them to pick themselves back up.

"This is a moment of darkness," Ulbrich said, via The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt on X .

Ulbrich added that the team struggled in all aspects of the game, but mentioned Rodgers specifically.

"Every single human being out there has got to be better," Ulbrich said. "Aaron's got to be better, coaches got to be better."

Rodgers completed 17-of-28 passes for 233 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. But it was the Jets' defense that struggled down the stretch, allowing the Patriots to score 11 fourth-quarter points.

The Jets have already experienced a great deal of turmoil this season, with Ulbrich taking over as head coach after Robert Saleh was fired following the team's 2-3 start. The Jets have now lost three straight under Ulbrich.

Aron Rodgers is the QB. He does not play defense. The defense lost the game on Sunday by allowing 11 points to be scored in the fourth quarter. Everyone on the team needs to play all four quarters and not lay down in the fourth quarter. I've said this before Aron Rodgers is just one player out of the 22 players who start and finish the game.
