The Chicago Bears suffered a devastating Week 8 loss on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Washington Commanders on a last-second Hail Mary bomb from Jayden Daniels.

This stunning play featured an embarrassing moment for Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson.

As Daniels scrambled in the backfield to step into the Hail Mary attempt, Stevenson taunted Washington fans with his back to the play. The second-year NFL pro out of Miami got to the play late, tipping the ball into the waiting arms of Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown for the miraculous touchdown.

Stevenson faced serious backlash for this behavior, sparking many Chicago fans to call for some form of punishment from the organization.

Bears team captain DJ Moore addressed how the team plans to hold Stevenson accountable.

“I didn’t see it happening during the play,” Moore said during an appearance on 670 The Score. “I’ve seen it just how everybody else has seen it [on social media].

“The captains were talking about how we need to really address that. I saw that he put something out that he was sorry, but we’ve still got to address it as a leadership group in front of the team.”

Stevenson issued an apology for his behavior after the Bears' 15-18 loss.

"To Chicago and teammates my apologies for lack of awareness and focus …. The game ain’t over until zeros hit the clock. Can’t take anything for granted. Notes taken, improvement will happen. #Beardown," he wrote on X.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus appreciated Stevenson's public apology.

“It showed responsibly and accountability,” Eberflus said.

The Bears will look to bounce back in a Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.

Little does he know he did this team a favor hear me out They won three games in a row! They were starting to get cocky. And they should have won this game.A timeout should have been called. They shouldn't have used the linemen to run in touchdown. The favor in question is simply this that loss will leave a terrible taste and every single player on that team's mouth. They will want more. They will want better. This will be the catalyst that causes a playoff. And potential super bowl run
