Blight tax proposed in Atlanta
In hope of spurring revitalization, Atlanta officials plan to raise the stakes against real estate owners who allow their properties to fall into blight.<\p> Atlanta City Councilmember Byron Amos on Monday introduced an ordinance to establish a blight tax. Municipal court judges would be able to increase property owners' tax bills by up to 25 times what would be levied under the city's standard rate for failing to remediate or redevelop blighted lots.<\p>

Anti-aging skincare clinic to open near BeltLine
Muse Skin Health & Aesthetics, an Atlanta-based skincare brand, is relocating from its existing Inman Park home to a larger space in the Butler building at The Krog District.<\p> The center, owned by Atlanta native Ansley Branch, is set to open Aug. 12 in a 7,000 square-foot space on the fourth floor of the Butler building,<\p>
Atlanta mortgages become even less affordable
Homeownership is becoming increasingly harder to afford for middle-class Atlantans, according to a recent analysis from national real estate company Zillow Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ZG). <\p> Prospective homebuyers earning the national median income would need to make a down payment of just over $118,000 to land an affordable monthly mortgage payment in the metro area, per the report.<\p>
