Tacos are joining the culinary lineup at High Street , a multiphase mixed-use district set to span 36 acres.

Velvet Taco serves more than 20 types of tacos in a fast-casual setting, including a rotating “WTF”: the Weekly Taco Feature. In addition to chicken, pork, beef, fish and veggie tacos, the menu includes sides like chips and queso, margaritas and red velvet cake for dessert.

The concept is no stranger to Atlanta; it can also be found in Buckhead at 77 W Paces Ferry Road and at The Interlock at 1115 Howell Mill Road. The brand, which began in Dallas in 2011, does not franchise in the U.S.

Two retail concepts were also recently announced for High Street: luxury menswear retailer Allen Edmonds and the med-spa Skin Spirit .

Jaguar Bolera and Nando’s PERi-PERi are also set to join High Street later this year, along with the coastal-inspired The Hampton Social , contemporary Mexican restaurant Agave Bandido , sushi restaurant Cuddlefish , ice cream shop Ben & Jerry’s and the tech-infused mini-golf experience Puttshack .

High Street is designed around an internal street grid spanning 10 city blocks. It is located near the Dunwoody MARTA Station and Perimeter Mall. The first phase will feature a collection of retail, dining and entertainment concepts, centered around a plaza that will be activated with community events.

With the latest round of tenant announcements, High Street has secured more than 80,000 square feet of the first phase’s 150,000-square-foot retail environment, according to a news release. Additional new retailers and restaurants are in the works.

“We have carefully curated a lively mix of retail experiences, including several new-to-Atlanta concepts and beloved community brands, that weave together the unique urban fabric of this district,” said James Linsley , president of GID Development Group , the developer of High Street. “With every visit, guests will delight in old favorites and new discoveries. We’re enjoying terrific momentum and interest from tenants. It’s an exciting time for High Street.”
