FORTH Atlanta to Feature Luxury Boutique Hotel, Several Dining Concepts

A new development featuring a boutique hotel is set to open in the Old Fourth Ward this summer.

FORTH Atlanta is a $150 million, 16-floor development that will include a 196-room luxury boutique hotel with 39 apartment-style rooms available for extended stays. There will also be four food-and-beverage concepts, an elevated outdoor pool, a fitness center and a members-only social club.

Atlanta’s New City Properties selected Method Co. to operate the site. Method Co. is a Philadelphia-based hospitality management and design company that has owned and operated several award-winning outlets across the country.

“We are thrilled to announce FORTH Atlanta and our partnership with New City. This will certainly be our most ambitious and innovative project to date,” Method Co. CEO and co-founder Randall Cook said.

The food-and-beverage concepts, designed by Philadelphia-based Stokes Architecture + Design in collaboration with Method Studios , will include a lobby cafe and bar, a rooftop cocktail lounge, a full-service Italian steakhouse, and a Mediterranean-inspired poolside restaurant and bar. The food-and-beverage program at each concept will be developed and overseen by Method Co.

FORTH Atlanta will also include a venue for events of all sizes, a co-working space, and a members-only social club with a fitness and wellness center with programming and classes, as well as a spa facility. The project also features a 2,300-square-foot outdoor pool deck with lounge seating and cabanas available to both club members and hotel guests.

The property was designed by New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects , the team that designed the Old Fourth Ward’s Overline Residences , which opened last year . Overline Residences was the firm’s first completed development to open in Atlanta.

FORTH Atlanta will be the centerpiece of one of the largest-ever mixed-use developments on the Atlanta BeltLine, according to a news release.

“Our ambition for FORTH was nothing less than to completely reimagine the hospitality experience in Atlanta,” President of New City Properties Jim Irwin said. “Atlanta deserves a modern hotel with world-class design and an operator that would be tirelessly committed to creating an impeccable experience for our members and guests.”

New City Properties acquired 11 acres of property in the Old Fourth Ward several years ago. The company began construction on three separate buildings, including FORTH Atlanta, in July 2020.

FORTH Atlanta is slated for a June 2024 opening.
