More Student Housing Proposed for Midtown

More student housing could be headed to Midtown.

Core Spaces , a residential development and property management company based in Chicago, is proposing a high-rise near Georgia Tech, Atlanta Business Chronicle reports . It would be located behind the Academy of Medicine at 875 W Peachtree Street, which is across from the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel. The site is currently a parking lot. The tower would include 295 units, according to the news outlet.

Founded in 2012, Core Spaces is the team behind Hub at Atlanta , a new building at 960 Spring Street with more than 253,400 square feet of residential space, and an upcoming residential building in Athens at 155 Mitchell Street expected to have 460 beds and be open in 2025.

Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that an application was recently filed to transfer more than 200,000 square feet of development rights to Core Spaces from the Academy of Medicine. See the full report here .
