The renowned CNN Center has been rebranded as “The Center,” and a slate of commercial space is envisioned for the ground floor.

Commercial real estate and management firm CP Group announced the rebranding of the center, which is now available for office and retail leasing. The development is positioned to become a hub “of world-class retail, dining, content creation, and entertainment at the core of downtown Atlanta’s entertainment district,” according to a news release.

This leasing launch marks the first time in 40 years that office users can claim space within the property that was occupied by its namesake tenant for almost four decades, according to the announcement.

“CP Group’s rebranding of the former CNN Center into The Center aims to create a unifying destination for commerce, culture and connection while also honoring the building’s legacy as a historic Atlanta landmark in media, sports and entertainment,” said CP Group Partner Chris Eachus. “Our vision includes curating an unparalleled selection of dynamic users, dining and retail experiences, entertainment offerings, and elevated lifestyle amenities — all of which will be carefully crafted to draw the community into the heart of the city.”

Coleman Weatherholtz of Healey Weatherholtz Properties is the retail leasing agent, with Jeff Keppen and Nicole Goldsmith of CBRE as The Center’s exclusive office leasing agents.

“CNN Center is known around the world, and we are already engaged with several new-to-market retail concepts to join the repositioning of this legendary building,” Weatherholtz said.

Originally built in 1976 as the Omni Complex, Ted Turner converted the building into the CNN Center in 1986. AT&T, CNN’s former parent company, sold the building several years ago. The iconic red CNN logo was removed from the building last month .

The site is located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, adjacenet to State Farm Arena and near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The rebrand comes amid Atlanta’s selection as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
