Pizza Verdura Sincera Now Open in Little Five Points

A plant-based pizza restaurant is now open in the heart of Little Five Points.

The flagship location of Pizza Verdura Sincera opened April 27, 2024, following a comprehensive rehabilitation of the space formerly occupied by Zesto .

Pizza Verdura Sincera offers pizza and desserts made entirely from plants using all-natural  ingredients. There are five “house pies” in two sizes and monthly specialty pies reflecting the season.

Beverages will include a full line of specialty sparkling waters from San Pellegrino and artesian still water from Italy. When the restaurant receives its liquor license, it will offer a house selection of Italian wines by the glass and bottle ($11 a glass and $38 per bottle), as well as local beers and European beers. A zero-proof beer will also be featured.

Pizza Verdura Sincera is founded by David Smith , also one of the minds behind SmoQ’n Hot Grill . Smith got the idea for the concept during the COVID-19 pandemic after hearing friends express frustration with the same food-and-beverage offerings. He recognized the movement towards more healthful, sustainable and ethical dining, as well as the opportunity to apply it to one of the most popular casual-dining categories in America: pizza.

“Throughout the lengthy process of product development, recipe testing and focus groups, the consistent response has been ‘This couldn’t be vegan; it’s the best pizza I have ever eaten. My reply has been, ‘That’s our goal,'” he said. “Our passion is not to make the best vegan pizza you have ever had; it is to make the best pizza you have ever enjoyed.”

Pizza Verdura Sincera will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Guests can dine in or order online.
