Makeover of Inman Park Commercial Building Moving Forward

A refresh of an old building in Inman Park is moving forward.

Work will resume on the 309 N. Highland Avenue property after the project was held up by delays, Urbanize Atlanta first reported . The site used to be a gas station and auto supply shop but now consists of offices and Fritti, an Italian restaurant.

The property has been around for decades, undergoing a renovation that turned it into the office space and restaurant it is now. It was adapted by Jones Pi erce , an Atlanta-based architecture firm. (When they first renovated the site, an 18-wheel trailer was hidden in the weeds in the parking lot, according to a post detailing the property on the firm’s website .)

Jones Pierce is again adapting the building alongside the building’s owner and broker, Dana Armour , “once again redesigning the exterior, upgrading the plain concrete masonry unit exterior to something more aesthetically (sic) pleasing and also making more refinements inside.”

In a job posting , Jones Pierce describes the project as a “mixed-use renovation (restaurants and office) in a high-profile location.”

Four “white box” tenant spaces, more outdoor space and new windows are proposed, along with a “more modern, cohesive look to the exterior.” Fritti could also get expanded patio seating and additional entrances.

The site is at the corner of North Highland Avenue and Elizabeth Street, across from the seafood restaurant BeetleCat.

Armour could not immediately be reached for more information.
