But for former Atlanta City councilman turned restauranteur, Antonio Brown , the journey to creating Stir House , the first vegan and gluten-free stir fry restaurant in the Southeast, was sparked by a personal health crisis and a passion for community engagement.
Mr. Brown's near-death experience in 2016 due to a digestive tract disorder revealed his gluten allergy and the lack of vegan and gluten-free options in Atlanta. Determined to provide conscious, healthy eating options for all, he developed the concept of Stir House in 2020. With the grand opening set for May 3rd near underground Atlanta, Stir House aims to meet people where they are in their health journey, offering a variety of vegan stir fry dishes free from allergens.
But Stir House is more than just a restaurant; it's a platform for social responsibility and advocacy. Located in downtown Atlanta, Stir House is committed to assisting the unsheltered population in the area and partnering with Georgia State University to create an entrepreneurship program for aspiring culinary entrepreneurs. By providing real-life experience and support, Stir House is paving the way for a new generation of conscious food entrepreneurs.
As Mr. Brown prepares for the grand opening tomorrow, he invites the Atlanta community to join him in this culinary revolution. The ribbon cutting ceremony at 1:30 pm, with Mayor Dickens in attendance, will mark the beginning of a new era of conscious eating in Atlanta. With a menu featuring authentic Asian-style wok cooking techniques, Stir House promises to deliver a unique and flavorful dining experience for all who walk through its doors.
