As the vibrant cityscape of Atlanta prepares for the Third Annual Black Wall Street Black Business Expo Block Party on June 1st , the air buzzes with anticipation and purpose. In a recent interview with President of TFLI, Jasmine Young , the essence and mission of this grand occasion were eloquently unveiled.

The Black Wall Street Black Business Expo stands as a testament to resilience and determination. Originating in 2021, this annual event seeks to reignite the spirit of Black Wall Street, the once-thriving African-American community in Tulsa, Oklahoma, tragically destroyed by the Tulsa Race Massacre in the early 1900s. The event aims not only to commemorate the past but also to advocate for economic empowerment and social justice.

Central to the Expo's ethos is the concept of collective economics and the power of a united mindset. Ms. Young and her team emphasize the importance of addressing generational trauma and nurturing mental health alongside financial literacy.

Scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festivities promise a blend of enlightenment and festivity. Panel discussions, vendor exhibitions, and awards ceremonies will punctuate the day, celebrating both community achievements and individual resilience. Notably, the event will honor Mother Viola Fletcher , the oldest living survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, highlighting the indomitable spirit of those who have endured and thrived against adversity.
