All eyes will be on the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night as they will be on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick for the NBA draft, assuming that they hold on to the pick.

On Wednesday, The Morning Shift was joined by NBA draft analyst Keegan Brown to discuss the potential direction the Hawks may go with the first pick.

“I think what they end up taking is the French kid, Risacher,” Brown told Tiffany Blackmon, Mike Johnson, and Rob Tribble explaining that he believes he has a “high ceiling in terms of what he can possibly do and project to be in the next three to five years."

And while the analyst believes that Risacher’s size can help the Hawks with defense and spacing, he explained that if Atlanta is looking to bring in a player that can have an immediate impact for the franchise, UConn’s Donovan Clingan would be the best selection for the Hawks.

“Looking at their stats this past year, the Hawks are the 11th best offense, 26th worst defense,” Brown said, adding that he believes Clingan “checks all the boxes” for Hawks head coach Quinn Synder, who he explains found success in Utah “with a dynamic offensive guard and then a defensive anchor."
