With the NBA Draft looming, all eyes are officially on the Atlanta Hawks, who are technically "on the clock". The week leading up to the draft has not been without drama either. The projected (by most "experts") number one overall pick, Alexander Sarr, recently cancelled a workout for the Hawks, and this has speculation running wild. Should assuming that Sarr doesn't want to play for the Hawks affect their stance on drafting him? This opinion is pretty much split.

Regardless of Sarr's desire to play in Atlanta, this really should not affect the Hawks' desire to draft, or not draft him. The other thing that the "experts" are ssying about Sarr is that he'll be a "project", meaning that he will not come in to the NBA ready to make an impact, and isn't that what the Hawks need right now? The player that is most talked about when it comes to making an impact immediately is the other Frenchman, Zach Risacher, but that would probably mean that a deal was already in place to move DeJounte Murray. The only thing that we know is that what the Hawks are planning on doing with the first pick in the 2024 draft is shrouded in mystery, which is probably how they want it. Randy McMichael and Abe Gordon the choices that the Hawks may make and how they will affect the immediate and intermediate future of the team.
