Whiskey Washback Wows Atlanta Spirits Fans With Michter’s, Four Roses and More

Whiskey Washback , a touring whiskey and culinary festival presented by Bottle Raiders, dazzled Atlanta on June 14. Some of the hottest brands from around the world set up shop and poured for lucky attendees who were able to taste their way through rare offerings like Michter's 10 Year Bourbon, Bardstown Amrut and many other exciting pours. No whiskey event would be complete without delicious food, and all-star chefs from Atlanta's culinary scene like Hartley's Kitchen, Don Carne Tacos and more made appearances. Guests could support local Atlanta artisans and purchase gifts from BRASH Coffee, B.M. Franklin and Co, Smoke & Serve and West & Peak. Michter's

Michter's was the first American whiskey to earn the coveted title of Drinks International's World's Most Admired Whiskey in 2023 . The brand is known for its core expressions: US1 American Whiskey, US1 Bourbon and US1 Rye. In May , the brand released its 10 Year Rye, an expression that was poured at VIP hour.

Widow Jane

This indie New York whiskey brand proofs its offerings with limestone water from the Rosendale Mines in upstate New York. Limestone water from these mines is the brand's calling card, as it possesses a unique sweetness, and Widow Jane considers it a unique "fingerprint" for its whiskeys.

Bardstown Bourbon Company

Bardstown Bourbon Company is arguably one of the more cutting-edge whiskey brands out there. In October , the brand unveiled a cutting-edge "Whiskey House" in Kentucky designed to focus on high-volume whiskey production. Aside from this brand making waves from a business standpoint, their bourbons are darn good. One of the better values on the market is Green River Whiskey . Technically, this brand is the 10th oldest distillery in Kentucky and has roots dating back to 1885. Though Green River disappeared for a bit, the brand is back in the game and continues to unveil one incredible release after another.

Virginia Distillery

Virginia Distillery specializes in the red-hot trending category of American Single Malts. VA Distillery often experiments with its cask finishes after distilling its whiskeys in copper pot stills from Scotland. Previous releases include Cider Cask Reserve, Port Cask Reserve and Cabernet Cask Reserve .

Four Roses

A brand like Four Roses needs no introduction. The brand's bourbon, small batch, single barrel and small batch select are iconic staples. Chicken Cock is another historic brand with roots dating back to 1856. During Prohibition , the brand was a staple at speakeasies like The Cotton Club, and it was transported across the Canadian border by smugglers in tin cans. The brand is known for its bourbon, rye, double oak Kentucky whiskey and small-batch bourbon.

Proper No. 12

Proper No. 12 hails from Ireland and is the brainchild of none other than MMA celebrity Conor McGregor . As far as categories go, Irish whiskey is red hot, and Straits Research cites it is projected to reach a value of $11.6 million and brands like McGregor's Proper No. 12 are spearheading the charge.

Wyoming Whiskey

FEW Spirits is a grain-to-glass distillery based out of Evanston, Illinois. This under-the-radar sleeper makes bourbon, rye, American whiskey, single malts and many more. FEW Spirits was selected by renowned bottler Lost Lantern to be a part of its series celebrating the dynamic region of the Midwest.
