    3-year-old child airlifted to Atlanta hospital following possible drowning at West Point Lake

    TROUP COUNTY, Ga. ( WRBL ) — A child was flown to an Atlanta hospital after being pulled from the waters of West Point Lake, according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).

    Deputies were dispatched to a possible drowning on Yellow Jacket Beach at West Point Lake at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

    Dispatch advised deputies a three-year-old child had been pulled from the water. The child received CPR from residents at the lake.

    Upon arriving to the scene, deputies and other first responders continued lifesaving measures.

    The child was airlifted to an Atlanta area hospital where they are receiving treatment. TCSO says this appears to be a tragic accident.
