Drake London is excited about the Falcons' fast new offense

Atlanta Falcons Training Camp is less than a month away, and Falcons fans far and wide have been wondering what they can expect to see from Zac Robinson’s offense. Well, earlier this week Falcons wide receiver Drake London gave a little insight into what the Falcons’ offense will be like this season, and The Morning Shift reacted to what London had to say earlier today.

“It’s just the type of play style we’re trying to play,” London said, via the team’s website. “It’s really, really fast. You got to be in condition. I think that speed is a killer in this game. If you have it, you can win a lot of things.”

So what exactly does a really, really fast offense look like? What does it entail? The Morning Shift crew gave their thoughts on it this morning.

That means when you get into a game and you’ve sorted through a game plan and you know what you’re seeing in front of you there’s no questions asked. Kirk Cousins knows where he's going with the ball going off the coverage the receiver knows based off what he’s looking at in front of him hey i’m getting the ball here. There’s none of that hesitation or option route kind of stuff when you’re able to play fast, and I'm just talking about position by position. When you know what the guy next to you is doing on the offensive line you can fly out of your cleats you’re playing so fast right, because you believe the guy next to you is going to be there and obviously with the Falcons returning all five starters that’s what they’re going to be looking at as far as the offensive line.” Mike Johnson said.

Beau believes the Falcons’ Zac Robinson lead offense is going to be the exact opposite of what Arthur Smith’s offense was while he was the Head Coach of the Falcons.

“I think it’s going to be just so much more of a West Coast style type of quick hitting routes like little short drag routes or quick slants where you one, two, boom and the ball is out.”

Arthur Smith’s offense was obviously very run heavy, but when the Falcons did pass the ball last season there were a lot of max protect two man routes, and that is quite the opposite of fast, so Drake London has so far let us know that this offense will be absolutely nothing like the offense we saw last year, and that is good news for Falcons fans.
