    1. The Ramblin’ Reck’s net-zero garage

🏈 Did you know that Georgia Tech’s iconic Ramblin’ Reck, a 1930 Ford Model A, has its own high-tech garage on campus?

Designed by Atlanta-based Square Feet Studio, the 1,000-square-foot pavilion is both a maintenance facility and a display for the vintage vehicle.

The award-winning facility was designed as a net-zero building that produces more energy than it utilizes. A six-foot roof provides natural lighting, shading from direct sunlight, and a discrete location for solar panels.

🕵️‍♂️ At first, we were also stumped by “Reck” vs. “Wreck,” but according to the university’s website: “Students at Georgia Tech call themselves Ramblin’ Wrecks with a ‘W’. Since its purchase by Dean Dull in 1960, the car has historically been spelled with an ‘R’.”
