Storico Fresco owners close their Buckhead Mexican restaurant Pachengo’s after less than a year

Less than a year after closing wine bar Storico Vino at Buckhead Village, Atlanta restaurateurs Pietro Gianni and Stephen Peterson closed its replacement last week. Pachengo’s Mexican restaurant closed on Friday, July 5.

The social media announcement didn’t provide an explanation for the closure, but some people commenting on the post implored Gianni and Peterson to consider bringing back the former wine bar.

“Most of our cooks and bartenders are from Central and South America, so Pachengo’s is a way to get them involved and give our longtime staff members the opportunity to share the food they know and love,” Gianni said in 2023 of replacing Storico Vino with the Mexican restaurant.

The kitchen was led by Mexico City natives (and husband and wife) Omar and Guadalupe Santamaria with dishes based on recipes from the couple’s families. Pachengo’s served a selection of tacos, burritos, and tostadas and other dishes such as queso con chorizo and enchiladas suizas.

Gianni and Peterson also own Italian restaurant Yeppa and Co. at Buckhead Village, which includes the Formula One racing-themed Dryver Bar. A location of Yeppa and Co. will open at Junction Krog District on the Eastside BeltLine later this year. Another location of Yeppa and Co. could open beside Northside Tavern on Howell Mill Road next year.

In addition to Yeppa and Co, the duo own Italian restaurants Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante in Buckhead and Forza Storico at Westside Provisions District.
