The NFL season is quickly approaching, which can only mean one thing: The college football season is quickly approaching! As the 2024 college football season shines upon us with its shiny new 12-team playoff system, The 33rd Team’s Ian Valentino gives his first 2025 NFL Mock Draft . For the Atlanta Falcons , Valentino decided to snag some secondary help for head coach Raheem Morris and defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake in Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis.

Even after adding four defenders in the first five rounds of the 2024 class, the Atlanta Falcons need more help in their secondary. Some might view 6-foot-4 CB Tacario Davis as a safety or big slot prospect, but there's no reason to change what works.

Davis is a shutdown, gigantic presence who swallows receivers with his rare length and closing speed.

If anything were to go wrong in 2024, it looks to start with the lack of secondary help the front office decided not to afford All-Pro safety Jessie Bates and Pro Bowl cornerback A.J. Terrell. Davis’ long six-foot-four-inch frame would fit Morris’ want for longer, more versatile athletes. Lake and Morris enjoy playing Cover-3 out of their two-high Quarters shell, Davis’ long arms and closing speed allows him to excel in bail technique, closing the holes in the seams where offenses, like to attack Cover-3 looks.
