1. Atlanta History Center reopens Margaret Mitchell House with reimagined ‘Gone With the Wind’ exhibit
🏡 The Atlanta History Center reopened the Margaret Mitchell House museum in Midtown yesterday with a new exhibit that more closely examines the popularity of “Gone With the Wind” — the novel and movie — and the influence it continues to have on American culture.
“Telling Stories: Gone With the Wind and American Memory” is the first exhibit at the museum since it was closed at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The museum, at the corner of 10th and Peachtree streets, includes Margaret Mitchell’s apartment – nicknamed “The Dump” – where she wrote most of the novel.
In this environment, surrounded by supporters of the Confederacy, Mitchell learned what the Civil War meant. What Mitchell learned, however, is not historically accurate, as the exhibit points out.

2. Over 11 million job seekers are using this Atlanta-based app to find jobs in their own backyards
📱 Over half of Americans are part of the hourly workforce. And yet the big job board players aren’t designed with them — or their employers — in mind.
Most job boards, like LinkedIn and Indeed, focus on salaried positions and aren’t suitable for high turnover positions. That makes it difficult for employers to find new talent fast. And employees have a hard time learning about opportunities nearby, which means they often have to spend precious time and money commuting to an hourly job that is located miles away.
That was a problem the husband-and-wife startup team Debbie and Mark Emery noticed as they built their careers in the HR technology space. And it is a problem they are now trying to solve with Juvo Jobs , an hourly workforce-focused app based in Atlanta.
“Our wines are representative of all regions, leaning more towards Old World regions,” said Cory Atkinson, who co-owns Sidetracked Wine with wife and business partner, Malory. “And carrying the Elemental ethos forward, we are focused on small, family-owned producers that practice under a sustainable umbrella in some form or fashion.”
