Georgia Organics’ Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival is back on July 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Westside Motor Lounge.

This tasting festival highlights local restaurants and farmers and is a longstanding fundraiser for Georgia Organics. Featured restaurants include The Deer and The Dove, Talat Market, La Semilla, Chai Pani, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours, and more.

The Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival showcases a curated lineup of “Farmer Champion” chefs and bartenders demonstrating their culinary prowess with dishes and cocktails crafted from the state’s summer tomato crop.

The “Farmer Champion” program is a growing roster of culinary professionals across sectors recognized for their dedication to purchasing from local and organic farmers.

The festival’s entertainment is produced by Santiago Páramo, a musician, composer, audio engineer, music consultant, DJ, multimedia artist, and cultural producer. The festival will be under siege by large-scale “killer” tomato puppets, bringing the event’s theme to life. The puppets are created by Julia Hill, whose sculptures and public art can be seen on the Atlanta Beltline. Meanwhile, the award-winning dance and percussion ensemble Giwayen Mata will perform throughout the grounds.

There will also an opportunity to bid on exclusive chef dinners, food and farm excursions, and more. This year’s auction items include an all-inclusive in-home dinner for 10 guests by Chef Joey Ward of Georgia Boy and Southern Belle, a Backyard Party for 50 guests with a whole Southern Spanish hog prepared on-site by Jon Jackson of Comfort Farms, and an “I <3 Atlanta Food & Farms” package with tickets to Atlanta’s best food festivals and gift cards to “Farmer Champion” restaurants.

“Through the celebration of local farmers and culinary artisans at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, we’re not just savoring delicious dishes, we’re cultivating a deeper connection to our community, supporting local regenerative agriculture, and nourishing the roots of Georgia’s rich culinary landscape,” Natasha Paracha, Georgia Organics’ Director of Events, said.

Since 2008, this event has been Georgia Organics’ primary fundraiser, powering its mission to invest in organic farmers for the health of our communities and the land. True to this mission, all tomatoes at the Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival are purchased from local farms recognized and honored at the event.
