A new pilates studio is coming to Buckhead.

Pêche Pilates is expected to open at Andrews Square this fall. The name, the French word for “peach,” is a marriage of two places that contribute to the ethos of the studio: Georgia and France.

Owner Hanna Sellers wants to bring southern hospitality and a friendly atmosphere to the pilates experience.

“We go work out to feel better and to look better, and it should be a positive experience,” she told What Now Atlanta . “That is one of my pillars I’m definitely bringing. I want people to have a welcoming introduction to my studio. That motivates someone to stay.”

Prior to living in Atlanta, Sellers had the opportunity to spend time in France, where her brother lived.

“There I learned from a couple really great master instructors,” she said.

But Sellers’ journey with pilates goes back further than that. She first started getting into pilates during college in Florida. She found a studio, started taking classes and fell in love with the practice.

Sellers was pursuing exercise science and then pre-med in college, helping develop an anatomical knowledge and background that informs her approach to pilates, wellness and exercise. She gained experience in sports medicine through the rehabilitation of athletes at the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, Florida.

She also aims to take a modern approach to the practice.

“As many years I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been able to see what works and tailor that,” she said. “That method has been really effective for my private clients and myself too. l respect the roots of the craft, but it’s 100 years old, so there have been scientific advancements, and I like to keep up on those.”

The first approximately three months at Pêche Pilates will have open enrollment, and after that, membership will be referral-based.

In between building out the studio, Sellers is teaching classes around the city that are open to anyone.

“I’d like to keep doing that even when I open the studio to make it more accessible,” she said.
