Le Petit Marche in Kirkwood and ABC Chicken and Waffles in Sweet Auburn, both backed by the owners of Atlanta Breakfast Club, will cease dine-in service this weekend and shift to delivery.

ABC Chicken & Waffles closes on Saturday, July 20, while Le Petit Marche closes after service on Sunday, July 21. The restaurants will then shift from dine-in service to digital ordering and delivery, beginning Wednesday, July 24, according to announcements on social media .

It’s unclear what led to the decision to suddenly shut down dine-in service at the restaurants, which both made announcements separately on Instagram. The two posts stated that the decision “was incredibly difficult,” apologizing for the “inconvenience” the closures will cause people.

There have been no announcements on what will happen to the buildings in which the restaurants reside or whether employees will remain with the restaurants after this weekend.

The original location of Atlanta Breakfast Club continues to operate on Ivan Allen Boulevard.

Owned by Osiris Ballard and chef Anthony Sanders, ABC Chicken and Waffles opened on Auburn Avenue in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant, located at the corner of Auburn Avenue and Hilliard Street, serves nitro coffee drinks and a pared-down food menu from its wildly popular downtown sibling, Atlanta Breakfast Club.

In 2021, Ballard and Sanders purchased breakfast and brunch restaurant Le Petit Marche from Marchet Sparks. Before the change in ownership, Sparks had closed the restaurant, citing her desire to return to real estate and voiceover work.

For longtime fans of Le Petit Marche, its closure back in 2021 hit hard. It had become a neighborhood staple for breakfast and brunch. Ballard and Sanders took over ownership of the restaurant a week after Sparks announced its closure. They vowed to keep the decor and menu the same, save for a few new dishes.

Rough Draft reached out to Ballard and Sanders for more details on the closures and shift to delivery service. Check back for updates.
