Fried chicken may have found its popularity in the South but hungry diners all over the country crave the crunchy favorite in various forms, from smothered in hot sauce and slapped between buns to paired with a fluffy, syrupy waffle or as simple and classic as it comes, served with traditional Southern sides.

Using reviews, awards and accolades, and first-hand experience, LoveFood compiled a list of the "best fried chicken joint" in every state, from delicious chicken sandwiches with simple but impactful ingredients to crispy, mouthwatering bites served with impeccable sides.

According to the site, the best fried chicken joint in all of Georgia is Busy Bee Cafe. This longtime Atlanta "institution" serves up incredible fried chicken made with a tried-and-true technique sure to win over any Southerner. Busy Bee Cafe is located at 810 Martin Luther King, Jr Dr. SW.

Here's what LoveFood had to say about this tasty restaurant:

"A real Atlanta institution, this old-timer has been around since 1947, serving excellent fried chicken that customers keep coming back for. The recipe for success here is simple — the chicken is brined for 12 hours, hand-breaded, and freshly fried. The smothered version, which sees the chicken served on rice with a generous amount of pan gravy, is equally good. There are sides like candied yams, fried okra, and collard greens to complete the meal."
