Should Marcell Ozuna be in the Braves' long-term plans?

Marcell Ozuna has been nothing short of a revelation for the Braves in 2024. Coming off a 40 home run season in 2023, the Big Bear continues his power surge and has carried the team offensively for much of the year. But with a looming Club Option next season for $16 million dollars, will he be in their long-term plans?

Ozuna presents the issue of not being a viable option in the field. With Ronald Acuna Jr. coming off an injury next year it would be a natural thought process the club would want to use him at DH more than usual next season. A spare day off for Matt Olson or Austin Riley in the field wouldn't be a bad idea either given their struggles this season.

There is no doubt Ozuna has earned his keep in Atlanta after a turbulent start on and off the field. His age and his inability to field, however, creates an issue that might just cause the team to be forced to move on from the All-Star slugger.
