Acclaimed artists Yemi Alade, Billy Porter, and Omawumi will headline the Global Black Pride festival Aug. 27 to Sept. 2 in Atlanta.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Yemi Alade, Billy Porter, and Omawumi to Global Black Pride 2024,” said Micheal Ighodaro, Global Black Pride’s President. “Their music and messages of empowerment align perfectly with our mission to celebrate diversity and unity within the Black LGBTQ+ community.”

Yemi Alade, known as the “Queen of Afropop,” is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, actress, and activist. Yemi has become a dominant force in the African music scene with hits like “Johnny.” She has won several international awards, including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best Female and a BET Awards nomination for Best International Act.

Billy Porter, an Emmy, Grammy, and three-time Tony Award winner, is celebrated for his bold fashion statements and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights. Porter is an Emmy-winning actor for his role in “Pose” and Tony Award-winning singer for “Kinky Boots.” This year, Billy will conclude his “Summer of Prides” with Global Black Pride, delivering a grand finale to what has been an extraordinary pride celebration. Get ready for an unforgettable event as Billy continues to champion the human rights and safety of LGBTQIA+ people around the world.

Omawumi, a Nigerian singer and actress, gained fame as a runner-up on “West African Idols” in 2007. Her fusion of Afro-pop, soul, and R&B, along with her advocacy for women’s rights, education, and health, has earned her respect both in the entertainment industry and beyond.

Themed “Love and Legacy,” Global Black Pride 2024 will feature a two-day conference, a global village, a film festival, and a two-day music festival, offering a platform for dialogue, cultural expression, and entertainment at various venues throughout Atlanta.
